Sweet Pea Galaxy Mixed is a vigorous variety that produces up to seven flowers per stem. Mix it up a bit and allow this mixture to create colour combinations you might not have thought of but are pleasantly surprised how good they look.
Trail the Sweet Peas through Broad Beans, Peas & Runner beans to attract pollinating bees & butterflies and create a colourful potager style look with wigwams of veg, foliage and flowers. An ideal companion plant that is so attractive.
Sweet Pea Galaxy Mixed Cut Flower Information

| When to Sow: | December to May or September to October. |
| Site Conditions: | Sunny but well-drained, humus rich. |
| How to Sow: | Pre-soak the seed in warm water for 12 hours to help break down the seeds hard coat or nick the hard coating carefully with a knife. Sow seeds 1cm deep into root-trainers, cover and keep moist & keep at about 20C. Germination should take 2-3 weeks and then reduce heat to 8-10C. When seedlings have 4 true leaves 'pinch out' tops to encourage them to bush out and grow on. Harden off & plant out in April for autumn sown ones and May for spring sown (may need frost protection if very cold). Plant a sweet pea 20cm apart behind and to one side of support. As climbers they will need a framework to climb up either a bamboo wigwam or something more decorative like an obelisk and can be tied to it or just wound up it. Alternatively sow seed direct in March to May, but either soak seed for 12 hours before sowing or nick the hard coating carefully with a knife and sow 1.5cm deep, every 20cm apart. |
| Care: | Keep tying in shoots to framework and keep cutting to encourage more new shoots & flowers. Top plants when they reach 2m and give them a feed with liquid fertiliser to encourage more shoots. By pick off the tendrils to ensure energy goes into shoots & flowers. |
| Flowers: | Cut when first flower on stem is open and the next is just about to open, each flower will last only a few days, but other buds will then open and so the stem should have a vase life of 6-10 days. Early sowings will flower from April onwards, later sowings from late May onwards usually about 8-12 weeks from sowing depending on time of year. |

Almost a home run

Initially I really loved how this sunscreen made my skin look. The tint provided enough coverage to even my skin tone and hide my remaining melasma. It gives a very nice glow that doesn’t look too greasy. I have dry skin, and this was moisturizing enough for summer; although I would probably need a moisturizer first in winter.
After using this product for many weeks however, I realized that it leaves residue on my hair making it feel chalky and dry. I’ve tried different techniques of washing my hands really well after so I don’t spread residue to my hair when I fix it, but I found it still made it’s way into my bangs. I even tried pulling my hair back and wait an hour before putting it down but inevitably my hair got this dirty chalky feel to it. It makes me feel dirty which is enough to deter me from wanting to use it exclusively.
I wanted to use a tinted physical sunscreen to stop the pigmentation to my melasma, but I just prefer how chemical sunscreens feel. I started to use this over my cheekbones after I apply my chemical sunscreen to help deflect blue light, but I think going forward I’ll just purchase a more affordable option if it is going to be used on such a small area.

Great option for a natural finished look

I have been using Colorscience Total Protection Face Shield SPF 50 Original color for over 5 years. I love that the color blends with your skin so well and provides a natural looking finish.
It does not cover all of my dark spots or defects, but it makes my natural skin look better. The finish is soft and silky and the 50 helps protect my skin from additional sun damage. If you are looking for a more natural finish, this is a great choice.

Made my blush look orangey

I absolutely loved the feel and finish of this tinted sunscreen, but with or without my foundation on top of it, my Benefit Dandelion blush went from pink to a shade of orange. I have fair skin, blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair, which at this time of year is more strawberry than blonde. The orangey shade is definitely not my color. I was sad that this didn't work out, because the Colorscience made my skin look radiant really, until an hour or so after blush was applied. I so wanted a replacement for the Australian Gold Mineral sunscreen in original tint, because even though that tint looks great color-wise, it also makes my skin look dry and therefore accentuates my wrinkles, even when I mix it with Olay microsculpting cream moisturizer before I apply it. The Colorscience didn't accentuate the wrinkles. I feel certain this color issue is either a conflict with my Olay moisturizer, my own chemistry or the Benefit blush; maybe a combination of the three. If you have oily skin this sunscreen is moisturizing so it might not work for you. Otherwise, you may want to give this a try. Hate that I had to return it. No matter what, I've had a run-in with skin cancer, so I won't go without spf. I just have to keep looking ancient and dry with AG until I find one that works better for my coloring, skin type, and that plays well with my moisturizer and blush. I'm 62 yrs young, normal to dry combo skin. Hope this helps!
