This was our first year growing Tagetes lucida and we loved it! Its edible leaves have a licorice-like flavor, making them a great tarragon substitute for seasoning fish, chicken, or salads. Beyond its uses in the kitchen, Tagetes lucida is a lovely addition to the garden, forming a compact shrub with dainty yellow flowers that attract pollinators. Heat-tolerant and perennial in zones 8 and above, we are happy to add it to our collection of herbs.
