Dischidia Platyphylla in 5.5” Pot Ships With Pot Well Rooted and Super Healthy!!

Please Read! ❗Items cannot be shipped to CALIFORNIA or ARIZONA due to state import laws. Any orders from these states will be canceled. My apologies for this inconvenience. This is a listing for a Dischidia platyphylla that ships in its 5.5" pot. It is well rooted very healthy. You will receive the EXACT item in the pictures. Growing Information Bright, indirect light is ideal for Dischidia platyphylla. Avoid direct sunlight as it can scorch the leaves. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Use a very well-draining potting mix, such as an orchid or hoya mix. Moderate humidity levels are preferred. Mist occasionally if the air is too dry. Temperature: Keep the plant in a warm environment, ideally between 60°F to 80°F (15°C to 27°C). Care and Cultivation They thrive in humid, tropical environments and are often found growing as epiphytes on tree trunks and branches. Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can be too intense, especially in the afternoon. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Use a well-draining soil mix, such as a blend of orchid potting mix, perlite, pine bark, and peat moss. Prefers some humidity, reflecting its rainforest origins. Consider using a humidifier or placing the plant in a humid room, such as a bathroom, if there is enough light. Feed with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer once a month during the growing season. Hoyas can take several years to bloom, and they often produce flowers on the same spurs year after year so don't remove the spurs when flowers drop! The flowers are nocturnal, opening at night and releasing a sweet fragrance. Hoyas are relatively low-maintenance and make excellent houseplants for those who enjoy fragrant, beautiful blooms.Ships in the 5.5” pots shown in the pictures. This listing is for the EXACT item in the pictures. We put great care into packaging our plants but due to the nature of the items shipped, it is possible for leaves or stems to bend or break in transit. If your plant arrives rotting or dead, If your plant arrives rotting or dead, we will replace it for you if we can or give you a refund if we cannot. Please contact me within 24 hours of delivery of your plants. It is my duty to get you a live healthy plant- a few broken leaves not counting as this is normal. (Link to Heat Pack: https://www.ebay.com/itm/146333255563 ) Keep in mind some plants we carry are very tropical and even cold, not freezing, temperatures can kill them. I will cancel any order I feel won't make it safely to its destination without freezing. 📌IF YOU EXPECT COLD WEATHER, PLEASE PURCHASE A HEAT PACK! 📌 I don't make any profit off of them because they are a necessary shipping item in winter.  Basic care instructions are included with your order. Name: Dischidia platyphylla

Scientific Name: Dischidia platyphylla

Family: Apocynaceae

Product Description:

Dischidia platyphylla is a compact, epiphytic vine native to the Philippines, known for its flat, rounded leaves that grow tightly against vertical surfaces in a shingling pattern. The leaves are succulent and smooth, ranging from bright green to gray-green, and often overlap like roof tiles. Beneath each leaf, adventitious roots help anchor the plant to bark or wood. This species has a mutualistic relationship with arboreal ants, which nest inside the hollow leaf bases and provide nutrients through detritus. Flowers are small, white to cream, and appear sporadically under ideal conditions. Its compact form and unusual growth habit make it ideal for mounted displays and terrarium walls.

Origination: Philippines

Historic Uses: Ornamental epiphyte for mounted displays, terrariums, and ant-plant collections

Height: Vines trail or climb up to 3 feet (90 cm)

Hardiness: USDA Zones 11a–12b

Flower Color: White to cream, star-shaped

Maturity: Blooms sporadically in high humidity and bright filtered light

Other Names: Sometimes called “Shingle Plant” or “Helmet Leaf Dischidia”

Growing Instructions:

Dischidia platyphylla thrives in bright, indirect light and high humidity (60–80%). Mount on bark or wood slabs to replicate its natural growth habit. Use a well-draining mix of orchid bark, sphagnum moss, coco coir, and perlite. Water when the medium feels dry but avoid soggy conditions. Maintain temperatures between 65–95°F, and mist regularly if grown indoors. Fertilize monthly with a diluted balanced fertilizer during active growth. Avoid direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves. Watch for mealybugs and spider mites, especially in dry environments.

Ships in the 6” HB pot shown in the pictures. This listing is for the EXACT item in the pictures. A few broken leaves or small stems are normal during shipping and are not considered damage. Broken stems can be rooted once the cut end dries to start new growth. Plants may arrive semi‑dormant, and in winter they may naturally drop a few leaves. If your plant arrives rotting or dead, we will replace it. Please contact us with photo proof within 24 hours of delivery. After 24 hours, plant care becomes the buyer’s responsibility, though we’re always happy to answer questions and help you succeed. We also add brief instructions on getting started when you open your box. We want our plant babies to have happy new homes! 🥰

Finally a ball my power chewers cannot destroy
Size: Medium
I have two dogs, an American Bully and an American Pit Bull Terrier, and both of them love to chew. Most balls last a very short time around here before they are shredded or missing big chunks. This one has actually held up. They chase it, tug on it and sit and chew on it, and it is still in one piece with no pieces breaking off. One of my favorite things is being able to put food inside. I add some kibble or small snacks, and they will happily sit and work on it for a long time. It keeps them busy, gives them something safe to chew, and they get a little reward while they play. When they are done, I just rinse it out and it is ready to go again. If you have strong jawed dogs that usually destroy toys, this ball is worth trying. Mine really enjoy it and I feel better knowing they finally have a ball that can keep up with them.

My dog LOVES this ball
Size: Medium, Size: Medium
Does your dog destroy tennis balls in seconds? Yes? Then your dog NEEDS this ball! It's squishy like a tennis ball, fits in ball launchers (even the cheap ones) and bounces when it hits the ground. My dog has been literally playing with this ball all day and not a single mark on it! The only bad thing is that it does not float. Definitely worth the money! Put it in your cart!

Perfect for ball demolishers
Size: Medium
The dogs love the chuck it brand. I don’t know what it’s made of but they go crazy over them. Will not play with another ball. Wonder if it’s “laced” with an addictive scent. Have pits. Very durable. Not able to chew to pieces. Last for about 6 months before there is a small break. I keep a back up because when the ball goes missing the house is in chaos. 😆 🤪

Chuckit medium rebound balls
Size: Medium
My 8 month old German shepherd dog loves these balls. They are easy to throw, they bounce great, they are very chewable! She keeps one in her mouth most of the time. It satisfies her need to chew and she does not chew other things. She drops it in the water and lets the hole fill up and drinks that way. The only problem that has caused is suction in her mouth and difficulty in dislodging it for her. However, she would be lost without it!
